On this page you will find the jump ring sizes that we recommend for our copper jump rings. Please note that these weaves have been tested using our copper jump rings, and due to variations in springback these recommendations should not be assumed to apply to jump rings made by anyone else or jump rings made from any other metal.
As the copper jump rings are tested, the results will appear on this page. Copper 1.0/3.5 makes a beautiful Byzantine Chain in copper alone, and also makes a stunning Byzantine Chain in a mixture of sterling silver and copper, both using jump ring size 1.0/3.5. For the mixed metal chain, the “boxes” were made from sterling silver and the connecting pairs were made from copper. You could, of course, reverse this. 1.0/2.92 makes a beautiful Jens Pind’s Linkage, very slightly denser than the sterling silver equivalent, but still gorgeous and fluid.
Please note that the jump ring size is denoted by the diameter of the mandrel used to make it.
